Emergency Services

Our four-day-a-week Emergency Food Pantry program is available to residents of zip codes surrounding the agency. On Fridays, seniors are provided with a stock box which contains a three-day supply of emergency food.

Bi-weekly deliveries of food come from the Hunger Task Force and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and also from schools, businesses, and service clubs. Funding for staffing the program is generously provided by United Way of Greater Milwaukee.

Used clothing is also provided at the pantry for all Center participants.

2,478 unduplicated people received food this year, an increase of 61% over the prior year. 46% skipped meals or ate less because they lacked sufficient food.

We are fortunate to have many committed volunteers who assist with the unloading of delivery trucks, packing food boxes, carrying boxes to participants' cars, and stocking shelves. Some of the volunteers are former pantry clients themselves.
